Well, you don’t have to worry about too many Americans learning geography.
Recently people on the street were approached and asked to point out Iraq. Some pointed to places like Mexico and Canada.
Sad.
Yes, although it turns out that the British are not hugely better at locating countries. There is a bit in the secret diary of Adrian Mole where his father apparently thinks the Falkland Islands are off the coast of Scotland. This was all the more hilarious for me at the time because that was where *I* thought they were too! (by way of excuse, I was not yet old enough back then to have gained my O level geography!)
Anyway, I see that CNN have now fixed their map! I should have taken a copy of the one that showed Wales as being in England.
